About the event
Foot Traffic: (DC/Baltimore) channels jam band ingredients into pointed indie rock songs. They drape their grungy songwriting motives in their 2010s indie influences to create a fresh platform for honest songwriting and improvisation. In April 2024, the foursome released their EP "Milkshakes?".
Dear Daria: Washington, DC-based four-piece Dear Daria writes storyteller songs about angst, love, social commentary, mental health, and a longing for the world to be the kind of safe and accepting place we all wished we lived in. Dear Daria is a brightly-colored swirl of power pop, indie rock, alt-rock, and pop punk. Frontwoman Maryjo Mattea says “it's like if Lennon and McCartney grew up in the 90s”.
Argo and the Violet Queens: Argo and the Violet Queens are a psychedelic driven band based out of Washington D.C. that blend nostalgic visual aesthetics, surreal lyricism, and higher energy performances to create a uniquely abstract world in which the music lives. Sonically, all four members make unique contributions to the band’s sound as they weave through explorations of what the 20th century’s preeminent genres can be once altered in a modern setting.
Lena Traynham is a second-generation DC area musician whose eclectic original music and infectious stage presence make her a standout in the local music scene. This indie-pop-twang-rock concoction draws from a lifetime of influences creating something undeniably unique. Her long awaited debut project dropped last year with her first single, “Brick by Brick” — she’ll be celebrating the release of her Debut EP early this Summer 2025!
